Will They Break:
Our jewelry is made to withstand hard impact but as with all glass, it can break if thrown against concrete, metal, etc. It should not break under normal conditions. If you get hit hard enough to break your jewelry, the jewelry will be the least of your worries. Use in or around your mouth at your own risk.
Why Pyrex:
In using Pyrex to produce our jewelry, we can provide you a limitless array of styles and colors.
Pyrex is much lighter than stainless and does not conduct heat or cold.
We can customize to any shape and color that you want. Pyrex is an excellent alternative to
Acrylic or Lucite which is made from petroleum products that can be absorbed into the skin.
What is Pyrex:
Pyrex, a registered trademark of Corning Inc., is borosilicate glass.
It is hypoallergenic, lead free, non porous, chemical resistant and autoclave safe.
It meets all pharmacopoeia specifications for type 1A glass.
Called hard glass, it can withstand thermal shock, hard impacts and will not shatter if broken.
It is similar to the Pyrex used for cooking and laboratory beakers.
We use both Corning and Schott borosilicate.
